Volunteering with
Kirkcaldy's Hospital Radio Station can be a richly rewarding experience,
as well as a valuable source of training if you want to make a career in
radio. Our studios are some of the most advanced in the country, and we
broadcast 24 hours a day.
Many of our past
presenters have gone on to become full-time presenters on commercial
radio.
As well as presenters, we
also look for people who would like to visit the wards, talking to
patients and collecting requests. You may also be interested in joining
our technical team.
Our application process
involves a short series of introductory modules, allowing you to fully
understand the work we do. You can then choose to specialise in a
particular field - such as programme presenting, or ward visiting. Full
training is offered.
Membership Criteria
We have certain minimum
membership criteria - all members
must be over 16 years of age, and able to give at least an
hour a week of their time.
There is an annual
membership fee of £20 (£15 for unwaged members). This is payable once
you become a full member.
